LECTURES FOR MEMBERS & FELLOW MAGICIANS >>>

THURSDAY 7TH MAY 2026 - 7PM - Jester Styles (Lecture)

CHARISMA AND CARD TRICKS

Jester Styles performs at over 100 weddings every year, alongside high-end corporate events and celebrity parties. He sells out ticketed theatre shows in Stratford-upon-Avon and has released a sell-out product to the market, road testing and consulting on many more.

In this lecture, Jester shares a practical, no-nonsense look at performing professionally. What actually works, what doesn’t, and the lessons learned along the way. Covering everything from getting booked and rebooked, to building a character that feels authentic, this is a rare chance to hear from someone doing it week in, week out.

For the first time, Jester will share some of his own routines, along with his thinking behind creating and adapting material so it feels personal and real. This is not a dealer demo and it won’t be packed with knuckle-busting moves. This is about the lessons that only come from experience. Delivered with passion, expect the occasional rant and a very clear explanation of why he doesn’t perform Rubik Cube magic.

THURSDAY 21st MAY 2026 - 7PM - Lee Alex (Lecture)

BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW

Everything you wanted to know about the Devil’s Handkerchief … and more!

After several years of non-stop research, Lee Alex presents an entertaining and surprising talk on the “Devil’s Handkerchief”. The captivating historical story of the handkerchief is supported with various performances, plenty of visual material and reproduction pieces.

You will be taught exactly what the “Devil’s Handkerchief” is, how it can be used and when to use it, with example effects.

After this inspiring session you will no longer look upon the “Devil’s Handkerchief” as a simple piece of fabric, but instead as a magical object that you will always carry upon your person.

Are you ready to step back in time?

Furthermore Lee Alex has recently been appointed as an Official Judge for The International Federation of Magic Societies (F.I.S.M). Having completed an intense two year training period which consists of both online assessment and judging at FISM Qualified Contests across Europe, Lee’s position was made official at the recent Golden Cat Magic Gathering in Gabrovo, Bulgaria by FISM International President Mr. Andrea Baioni. If you have ever considered competing in the World Championships of Magic, or indeed any magic competition, this is your opportunity ask questions with a valuable insight into the judging perspective, offering fresh inspiration and concrete suggestions on how competition acts can be refined and improved, giving a deeper understanding of what truly matters in competition magic.
